Terms of Service

1. The service

Groundwork generates pre-trip travel intelligence briefs covering security, weather, logistics, medical, embassy, and accommodation information. Briefs are produced using AI in combination with live government data feeds and curated datasets. We provide the service “as is” — see Disclaimers below.

2. Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account.
• Notify us immediately at maarteno@arrive-prepared.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Subscription and billing

• Free tier: includes the Destination Overview and Weather modules without payment.
• Pro tier: $9.99 per month or $99 per year, billed in advance via Stripe.
• Monthly subscription: you may cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain Pro access through the end of the month you paid for. No partial-month refunds.
• Annual subscription: when you purchase an annual subscription, you receive Pro access for the full 12 months from your purchase date. Annual subscriptions are non-refundable and do not pro-rate. If you cancel, you retain Pro access through the end of the prepaid year but will not be re-billed.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price. You may turn off auto-renewal at any time from your account.
• Beta tester codes: codes provided by Groundwork grant Pro access at no charge. Codes are non-transferable and may be revoked if obtained or used improperly.
• Price changes: we may change prices with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing period.
• Refunds outside of cancellation are at our sole discretion.

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Resell or redistribute generated briefs to third parties without a separate written license from us.
• Scrape, mirror, or systematically extract content from the service via automated means.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or proprietary prompts.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service, including via denial-of-service attacks or attempts to overwhelm rate limits.
• Use the service in a manner that infringes others' intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation in your account information.

Violation of acceptable use may result in immediate account termination without refund.

5. Disclaimers — read carefully

Groundwork briefs are informational only and are not professional security, medical, legal, or financial advice. Travel conditions change rapidly and we cannot guarantee the timeliness, accuracy, or completeness of any information presented.

• Before relying on any brief content, you must verify critical information (advisory levels, embassy contacts, hospital details, security guidance) directly with the original authoritative sources cited.
• AI-generated content may contain errors, hallucinations, or omissions despite our anti-fabrication safeguards.
• Curated datasets (embassies, etc.) are maintained on a best-effort basis. Addresses, phone numbers, and access policies change without notice.
• We do not monitor real-time emergencies. Do not rely on Groundwork during an active crisis — contact local emergency services (e.g. 911 in the US, 112 in EU, or the destination's local equivalent), your government's embassy, or established crisis response services.
• Government travel advisory feeds are surfaced verbatim and are the responsibility of the issuing government, not Groundwork.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT BRIEFS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

6. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GROUNDWORK AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY DECISIONS MADE BASED ON BRIEF CONTENT.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on liability; accordingly, some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

7. Intellectual property

The Groundwork name, logo, brief structure, prompts, and underlying software are owned by Groundwork Travel Intelligence LLC. Generated brief content is licensed to you for your personal or internal business use. You retain ownership of any data you input.

8. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, fail to pay, or for other reasonable cause. Upon termination, your access ends but previously-generated briefs may be retained per our Privacy Policy.

9. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
